L210: The Vulgate
Christendom Track
In this course students will read some of the most important and exciting narratives from the Old and New Testaments. This will include selections from Genesis, Samuel, and the Gospel according to John. Because many of the stories from Scripture are well-known and the syntax of the Vulgate is relatively easy, the Vulgate is a great source of comprehensible input for students looking to increase their Latin reading experience without increasing tears. Of course, the Vulgate is also an exceptionally significant document for the history of the Latin West.

Q: Is this the right course for me?
A: ALI students who have successfully completed Intermediate Latin 202 are automatically eligible for admission into Latin 210. We also welcome, of course, students who have begun their Latin education elsewhere. Feel free to reach out to us if you are unsure about which class is right for you.
