We’re excited to announce that the Ancient Language Institute has launched a brand-new podcast: New Humanists.
Jonathan Roberts and Ryan Hammill founded ALI in order to transform the way ancient languages are taught, so that students could ditch the grammar charts and actually read texts written in those languages. But why do that in the first place? Why bother reading dusty old texts in dead languages from thousands of years ago?
It is something that the humanistic tradition has insisted on, and it is the question the New Humanists podcast is meant to explore and answer. Even in the 21st century, the humanist tradition isn’t dead yet – we hope – so join Jonathan and Ryan on their quest to discover what a renewed humanism looks like for the modern world.
