This is what you’ve been working towards: the Aeneid, Virgil’s epic poem chronicling the aftermath of the Trojan war and the founding of the Roman people. In ALI’s “Aeneid Seminars,” we spend an entire term conducting a close reading of a single book of Virgil’s masterpiece, reading and discussing it in Latin. This is the Book I seminar, in which you will encounter the embattled Trojan prince Aeneas, see the machinations of Juno and Venus, and witness Aeneas’ entry into Dido’s court.
