Advanced Ancient Greek: κατὰ Μᾶρκον εὐαγγέλιον (Fall 2023)
οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τέκτων, ὁ υἱὸς τῆς Μαρίας;
The shortest of the four gospel accounts, but also in many ways the most dramatic, the Gospel of Mark roars like a lion as it races toward the doom awaiting Jesus in Jerusalem. In this course, we will read the entirety of the Gospel of Mark in Greek as well as discuss it in Greek, with occasional detours into other texts as appropriate. This exercise in reading Ancient Greek extensively will prepare students for a Spring 2024 course focused on Attic literature.

- Classes run on a semester basis.

- Kata Markon will be split into two different sections.
- Section A will meet on Fridays, 9:15am – 10:45am PDT (San Francisco)
- Section B will meet on Fridays, 4pm – 5:30pm PDT (San Francisco)

- You can skip the semester system. With one-on-one Tutorials, you can set up your own class schedule with an ALI professor.
- We want to make sure you’re completely satisfied. If you don’t love your first Ancient Greek class, we guarantee a 100% refund.
