Ancient Greek 301: κατὰ Μᾶρκον εὐαγγέλιον (Spring 2024)
οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τέκτων, ὁ υἱὸς τῆς Μαρίας;
The shortest of the four gospel accounts, but also in many ways the most dramatic, the Gospel of Mark roars like a lion as it races toward the doom awaiting Jesus in Jerusalem. In this course, we will read the entirety of the Gospel of Mark in Greek as well as discuss it in Greek, with occasional detours into other texts as appropriate. This exercise in reading Koine literature extensively will prepare students for a Greek 302 course focused on Attic literature..
